Mission Statement
Passionate about People, Performance & Health
That’s who we are and what we do. Based on our core value of being passionate about what we do and where we do it, you’ll find the whole team absolutely committed to helping each and every person or organisation that entrusts us with an element (or all) of their development pathway. We feel it’s an honour to be trusted and we’re passionate about getting it right.
Medicology is passionate about performance in people and synonymous with creating high performance in teams and individuals in the modern healthcare environment.
We are the largest provider of open courses in leadership & management specifically for healthcare professionals and renowned for successfully engaging clinical teams. We have a thriving bespoke (in-house) training service and a growing role in consulting in people-related healthcare challenges. We are especially renowned for our deep understanding of the current healthcare agenda and our ability to move the minds of even the strongest senior clinician.
We specialise in helping organisations to:
- Develop leadership potential so that it contributes to effective performance
- Smarten up services in light of the modern healthcare agenda and competitive market
- Increase management capability to more effectively drive people, projects & performance
- Improve effectiveness in organisational change
- Resolve conflict and engagement challenges
- Create a bedrock of proactive collaboration through clinical/managerial teams
- Install behavioural flexibility in individuals, along with a more open mindset
- Create high performance, harmonious and respectful team environments
- Motivate and inspire people to truly deliver for the organisation
- Re-install passion where passion has waned
Our team consists of a small number of passionate individuals with strong healthcare or public sector backgrounds coupled to a modern market mindset. With a strong clinical heritage, collectively we have well over 100 years experience in leadership and management specifically related to the healthcare environment, including both the business and clinical side, both within the health service and in industry. It means we know what we’re doing and can be trusted to assist you in enabling your people.
Clinical Business Excellence
The evolving healthcare landscape is demanding, competitive, increasingly financially challenged (read famine...) and very unforgiving to the ill-prepared organisation or service. Services survive and thrive by being effective across what we call the 6 Core Components of Clinical Business Excellence, requiring a proactive, collaborative and well-founded approach to healthcare based on genuine knowledge and insight. Besides having a range of programmes specifically designed to deliver excellence in each of the 6 core areas (below), the principles of clinical business excellence are embedded into every Medicology programme.
- Clinical Effectiveness (encompassing Leadership, Governance & Improvement)
- Financial Effectiveness (including Cost Improvement)
- Attraction Effectiveness (including Marketing, PR & Referral Influencing)
- People Effectiveness (including Leadership, Management, Team Working, Workforce Re-design, Motivation & Morale)
- Patient Experience (including assessment & improvement)
- Strategic Effectiveness (encompassing Service Reform & Strategic Evolution)
Development delivered in isolation of these areas and without modern healthcare market insight is likely to be increasingly ineffectual. Not only does Medicology recognise the absolute importance of this but we are renowned for our deep understanding of the evolving landscape and what it takes to be successful in it.
Balancing Business & Clinical Imperatives In Health
Modern healthcare organisations survive and thrive in a highly competitive environment through a coordinated (collaborative clinical & managerial), effective approach to the core components of service success:
- Clinical Effectiveness (including Leadership, Governance & Improvement)
- Financial Effectiveness
- Attraction Effectiveness (including Marketing, PR & Referral Influencing)
- People Effectiveness (including Leadership, Management, Team Working, Motivation & Morale)
- Patient Experience
- Strategic Effectiveness (Service Reform & Evolution)
Besides having a range of programmes that deal with these specific elements of service success, all Medicology programmes are consistent in their approach to encouraging attention to all 6 core components.
