First class e-learning from eMedicus Online Learning
eMedicus from Medicology remains true to our ethos – if we can’t do it properly, we won’t do it at all. We’re passionate about people, performance and health and so anything less than an excellent result is in injustice to medicine and the professionals that work so hard within it. We wanted eMedicus to be online learning the way it should be – the highest possible quality in an interactive, engaging form.
Our pledge...
We will only provide courses that are true to the above. If we don’t think the topic lends itself to the online environment then we definitely won’t put it there just to earn a few pounds. Take leadership, for example. Whereas some leadership topics translate well, leadership as a whole does not. Anyone selling you ‘the complete answer to leadership’ in an e-learning form is more interested in money than results.
What can you expect from an eMedicus course?
Each eMedicus course is slightly unique in structure, depending on the subject matter, duration and degree of practicality but in general:

- Graphics, graphs & charts wherever possible

- Documents & resources linked to directly from your learning programme

- Save & resume functions to save your time and memory!
- Add actions and capture key learning points
What you definitely won’t find are pages of dull text with little learning value over buying a book. Providers taking this approach need to be honest and say “buy a book, it’s cheaper and longer!”
How eMedicus courses work
eMedicus courses are designed to be highly intuitive, even if you’ve not used e-learning before.
However, you do need to consider a few things:
CPD from online courses
With revalidation/re-certification requirements stipulating that you need to be able to ‘prove’ you undertook learning, you can undertake a formal assessment at the end of your eMedicus course and on successful completion we’ll issue a hardcopy, signed certificate, as well as maintaining your records should verification be required. We recognise that this isn’t necessary for everyone and so this exists as a cost option just for those who need it.
- They are built using FLASH and therefore will run on virtually every PC in the world as long as FLASH files are permitted
- Video and audio is all contained within FLASH and so doesn’t require any special players or additional software
- If you don’t already have a suitable FLASH player, this is a free download from Adobe, in much the same way that Acrobat Readers are available (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/)
- Navigation is designed to be obvious e.g. a big button saying “save and resume later” so no technical knowledge is required
- The basic instructions for each course are contained within each course
- Courses can be run in a window or full screen
- You do need a sound card & speakers/ headphones (with the sound turned on)

Licensed Programmes
If you are thinking that it would be great to give lots of people access to a particular learning programme but believe the costs are prohibitive then you are in the right place. Licensed programmes allow you to obtain group access at a remarkably low annual fee with discounted renewal for subsequent years.
